Twas a busy Saturday

 
First off, I'll start with the scrappy stuff.  Even though that isn't how my day started. :-)

This is a closeup of a little something I made today. I made a rosette, with some pretty sheer streamers.  Its so soft and feminine, don't you think?  I was putting away my Christmas decorations (finally) this morning, and got sort of inspired to make rosettes.  And, now I do believe I am addicted.  Here is the whole thing. I apologize for the weird lighting.  Its raining here, so my inside cell phone pics are really crappy.

Before I sat down to play today, I had a big list of things on my "to do."  I got up at about 6am...and took down my Christmas tree and packed up the decorations.  It was past time. :-)  Then, I groomed Shelley for the dog shows next weekend...and that involves a bath, blow dry as well.

One more for the road

 
This one started out as a tag that I ended up putting on a gift bag.  Its for Valentine's day, but it could be a wedding, anniversaryor just a nice gift bag for someone you love.

If you look close, you can see I pulled out that embossing folder, the woodgrain one, and I love it.  At first, I stained it wood colors, but turned over and used the backside...go figure, I just play with stuff until I like it.

 

So what do you all think?  Valentines?  Or something else?

whoa...3 days in a row!

 
Most of the stuff I've been making lately is out of just a hodgepodge of stuff that I have laying around.  I know that just about every single time I make something, I do head over to my scrap basket, and just use what I see. 

This is actually the front of a gift bag (as pictured below).  Of course the photo would look so much prettier if I just put something in it and staged the photo, but alas...the cell phone photo it is again! LOL!

Be mine...

 
I had the opportunity to spend a little time working on some Valentine's projects.  What is sweeter than a pretty little Valentine's card with doilies, and lace and pearls?  I saw these Martha Stewart butterfiles, and had to have them...they are so pretty!  They have a vellum overlay on them.

Here's a more straight on view of the card, I apologize for the photo, its a cell phone photo...and it is dark too early to get good light, so this is what we have!

To me this is a very traditional, romantic, vintage style Valentine's card.  What sort of cards do you like to make? 

Are your cards fun and playful?  Cute?  Or are they dramatic and Vintage-y?

A little sprucing up

Since I've not been around for a long time, I think its time to spruce up the old neglected blog.  I've always wanted to do this, but, I have been intimidated by the steps it takes.  I don't know why, probably mostly a lack of time to actually learn how to do it.  However, it really was not that hard, as I did in less than 10 football minutes. :-)

I have not stopped creating items, but rather had a run of bad luck, I guess.  First off, my laptop (and Troy's) was stolen, as well as all several other items in a break in of my van in Houston, right after Thanksgiving. 

My laptop was not even 2 months old.  :-(

But I have a new one now, and I'm trying to recover all the lost software, as well as images.  Thankfully, most of my stuff was backed up in several places.  So, all was not totally lost.

I'll save December for another post....

But, hopefully this year, you will hear more from me.
